Everybody has known for a while that Sen. Tom Reynolds is how shall we say it? a bit odd. How many other lawmakers quiz job applicants about their sex lives?
But now we have video evidence that the West Allis Republican really marches to the beat of a different political drummer. The West Allis Republican, it turns out, has to be about the only pol who doesn't want to be on camera.
And the public servant's decision to bar a member of the public from taping Reynolds at a public forum held at a public building has landed the first-term senator in hot water with a library director.
It all started routinely enough. Reynolds, as he had several times in the past, reserved the Firefly Room at the Wauwatosa Public Library for a town hall meeting on May 9. A handful of people showed up, and it was business as usual until Jennifer Morgan, a former auto mechanic, walked in with her camera.
Yikes!
When the freshman senator saw Morgan filming, he cut a constituent off mid-question.
"Want to hold on a second, Bill? There's a fellow here who's filming," Reynolds said, before turning to Morgan. "You're filming here from where?"
"Personal interest," Morgan meekly replied.
The senator obviously was not pleased.
"That would not be allowed," Reynolds said. He added a moment later, "All right, we're...
