Brendon Hansford oversees complex financial transactions, but his business philosophy isn't complicated at all.
"I'm a reasonable guy. I believe in keeping it simple and taking the moral high road," said Hansford, recently named senior vice president of finance and development for Convergys Corp.'s Employee Care Group.
Hansford, formerly vice president of corporate development for Convergys, joined the firm in 1999. Most notable among transactions he spearheaded was the $700 million acquisition of Geneva Technology Ltd., based in his native United Kingdom.
His promotion to the Employee Care position July 1 presents new opportunities.
"Employee Care is the smallest of Convergys' three units and has the highest growth potential," he said. "My goal is to be part of the team that makes it a major player in the employee care field."
Hansford earned his bachelor's degree from Oxford University in England. He was 2001 vice chair of the Corporate Leadership Council of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, coaches youth soccer and is active in Horizon Community Church.
"Business leaders are financially blessed, so it's important to give back from the goodies they've picked up," he said. "Plus, it's fun."
