Dublin, California-based Ellie Mae Inc. has launched Encompass® WebCenter, a next-generation Web site that links mortgage originators with borrowers, real estate agents and other partners by enabling two-way Web-based communication for all aspects of the loan process, including individual loan inquiries, requests and status updates.

Encompass WebCenter serves as an information source for borrowers by securely relaying pertinent loan data straight from the originator's Encompass mortgage automation system, while also functioning as a marketing tool for the originator and broker by providing a borrower- and Realtor®-centric informational Web presence.

Designed to further expand the reach of brokers and originators, Encompass WebCenter gives users a professional, interactive Web presence, and allows borrowers to submit loan applications and access their loan information straight from any Internet-connected computer, according to Jonathan Corr, Ellie Mae's chief strategy officer.

"It's a way of expanding the power of the system to include the borrower's needs and input. We recognized that the industry could benefit from a solution that went beyond the traditional parameters of today's mortgage-related Web sites," explained Corr. "The Encompass WebCenter fulfills that need by connecting directly into the Encompass mortgage automation system so borrowers can get information on their loan status at any hour of the day without having to contact the originator, and originators can receive borrower-entered data transferred directly into their Encompass systems without being actively involved."

Through Encompass WebCenter, originators and brokers can also enhance lead generation and offer borrowers the opportunity to check loan status, request documents, receive electronic disclosures and provide electronic signatures-all online, said Corr.

"We designed Encompass WebCenter knowing that we'd have to go way beyond the status quo," said Corr. "We really raised the bar by bringing simplicity, ease of use and visual appeal to a whole new level. Plus, it's completely integrated to Encompass."

Encompass WebCenter will be released with the next version of Encompass, Encompass 3.0, during the second quarter of 2007.
