Abstract
The relationships between employer provided educational assistance, organizational commitment (affective, continuance, normative), and turnover intentions were investigated. Participants were employees at a private university participating in educational assistance. Results indicated significant relationships between the commitment scales. All types of commitment had negative correlations with turnover intentions. Educational assistance showed no significant correlation with organizational commitment. The findings support past research that found a negative relationship between commitment and turnover. However, the present study failed to find a relationship between educational assistance and organizational commitment as hypothesized.
