Abstract

L'objectif du memoire est d'analyser le programme d'histoire du Quebec et du Canada de 4$\rm\sp{e}$ secondaire sous l'angle de sa contribution a la socialisation politique. Apres avoir mis en relief des lacunes dans l'initiation des jeunes aux realites politiques et effectue une recension des ecrits sur le role du systeme d'education dans la socialisation politique, l'auteur a construit une grille d'analyse du programme d'histoire du point de vue de la socialisation politique. La grille d'analyse permet de distinguer les connaissances vehiculees par le programme, les habiletes analytiques axees sur l'information et les habiletes analytiques prealables a la participation qu'il pourrait contribuer a developper chez les eleves. Les resultats de l'analyse du contenu de l'enonce du programme d'etudes et du guide pedagogique montrent dans quel sens le programme d'histoire contribue a la socialisation politique des jeunes.

The objective of the dissertation is to analyze the secondary 4$\rm\sp{e}$ history program of Quebec and Canada from the angle of its contribution to political socialization. After highlighting gaps in the initiation of young people to political realities and carrying out a review of writings on the role of the education system in political socialization, the author constructed an analysis grid for the history program from the point of view of political socialization. The analysis grid makes it possible to distinguish the knowledge conveyed by the program, the analytical skills focused on information and the analytical skills prerequisite to participation that it could help to develop in students. The results of the content analysis of the curriculum statement and the teaching guide show in what sense the history program contributes to the political socialization of young people.
