Abstract

Single molecule microscopy is one of the techniques used to acquire data in biological studies. Most single molecule data has until now primarily been analyzed visually because of the lack of software support for quantitative analysis. We present a software framework for single molecule estimation which allows biologists to perform quantitative analyses on single molecule data. We have developed the Estimation Tool based on the foundation of this software framework to allow users to perform such tasks as single molecule localization and resolution to sub-pixel accuracy. We have also developed the FandPLimit Tool to allow users to determine the limit of the accuracy of estimates calculated from data acquired from a given experimental setup.
