Abstract (Summary)

THE scene on the screen is intimately familiar: a blond woman smokes a cigarette, oblivious to the ravens gathering on a set of monkey bars in the schoolyard behind her. By the time she finally notices a bird landing next to dozens of others, the suspense is almost too much to bear.
