TUPAC SHAKUR
1971-1996
Tupac Shakur wasn't just a rapper.
"I think I'm a natural born leader because I'm a good soldier" he once said. "I know how to bow down to authority if it's authority that I respect."
He was a man on a mission. A man who had Black Panther prowess in his blood meaning he was committed to helping achieve self-sufficiency among African-Americans, equality among races and social justice around the world.
"He was sweet," Jada Pinkett-Smith said about Shakur. The two attended the Baltimore School for the Arts, dated for a while and remained close friends. "He was hard, but gentle. You had to know him to know him."
