Cher's latest, "Living Proof" is proof that the success of "Believe" was no fluke.
The No. 1 single "Believe" -- Cher's so-called 1998 comeback (although Cher has never really disappeared) -- sold 1.8 million copies in the United States and, in Britain, became the biggest- selling song ever by a female. In addition, the album sold 3.4 million copies.
With 22 albums and a career that spans nearly 40 years, the chart- topping, Grammy Award-winning singer and Academy Award-winning actress is still one of the most distinctive voices on the planet, and will always be considered the unofficial founder of the one- name celebrity club.
