Tracing the footsteps of Sherlock Holmes: Cognitive representations of hypothesis testing

Abstract (Summary)

Three experiments are conducted to examine cognitive representations of hypothesis sets in the testing of multiple competing hypotheses. In all conditions, the noncomplementarity of opinion revisions remain a strong phenomenon.
