Publication Search
Publication Search makes it easy to find the latest issue or a specific back issue of a favorite magazine, journal, or newspaper. (If you are searching for a company profile, or using APS Online, see the sections below.)
For many databases, you can also set up Alerts on specific publications in which you are interested. You will be notified by email when new information becomes available.

Enter a word or phrase into the search field and click Search. If you don't know the complete title, enter the words you know.
Or Click Show all publications to view all available publications.

A list of titles appears. For publications available in full text format, you will see the coverage dates available, as well as any embargo periods.

Click the title of the publication you want to browse.
A list of available issues appears. Below the title you will see the coverage dates and any embargo periods.

Click the issue you're interested in to review a complete list of documents available.
Or
Enter a keyword search into the search field and click Search to search within the selected publication.
Or
Click the Publication Information link to view more information about the selected publication.
Searching for Company Profiles
If you are searching the Hoover's Company Information database, you can search for Hoover's Company Capsules to view company profiles and details.

Enter a company name into the search field and click Search.
Or Enter Hoovers into the search field and click Search.

In the list of titles, click Hoover's Company Information.
You see a list of all companies available to view.

Scan the list and click the company you're interested in to review a company capsule. If you reach the end of a page and haven't come to the company you want, just click a page number to advance to that page of the list.
Or Jump to companies with names starting with a particular letter by selecting the letter from the list. Or Enter a company name in the search box and click Search. You will be taken to the nearest match (alphabetically).
Publication Searching in APS Online
Because APS Online uses a slightly different database, running a Publication Search operates in a slightly different manner. You can still easily find specific issues of publications, you will just structure your search in a slightly different manner.
To locate a specific publication by using the search fields:

Enter any of the following search criteria:

Enter keywords in the Keyword(s) field. You can enter multiple words, separated by commas. Keywords must match exactlyif you want to find Chicago, you must type Chicago. ProQuest will search all indexing available at the publication level, including the title and all of other fields displayed as searchable from that page (for example publisher and editor.)

Enter a title, or part of a title, in the Publication title field. You can also click Browse Publications to select a title from the titles available. ProQuest will locate publications with the selected title, or
You do not need to use wild card characters in a Publication title search, ProQuest will locate all expanded versions of the text you enter. If you search for chi, ProQuest will find Chicago, archive, and all other variants.

Enter the last name of an editor in the Publication editor field. Or click Browse Editors to select an editor from those available.

Enter subjects in the Subjects field. Or click Browse Subjects to select one from those available.

Enter a location in the Location of publication field. Or click Browse Places of Publications to select one from those available.

Enter a publisher in the Publishers field. Or click Browse Publishers to select one from those available.

Enter a date range in the Date range fields. Dates are limited to year only, and must be entered in the format yyyy.

Click Search.

A list of titles appears. For publications available in full text format, you will see the coverage dates available, as well as any embargo periods.

Click the title of the publication you want to browse.

Setting up Alerts on Publications
You can set up an Alert for a publication you are interested in. Follow these steps:

Locate the desired publication using Publication search. From the Publication page, click Set up Alert.
You will see the Set up Your Publication Alert page.

Complete the required information and click Save

You will see a confirmation page, summarizing your information. If the information is correct, click Done. Otherwise, you can click Delete this Alert to delete the alert.
